Cast off from Mount Desert Island after more than a decade and resettled in Portland, Maine, armed with a B.A. in Human Ecology and certified by the SALT Institute for Documentary Studies, I work to create images that may be used in humanitarian efforts to effect real change.
My work focuses on the human condition, and casts light on sections of society that I feel have brilliant stories deserving to be seen by the general public. I hope that my work might be used to understand problems within the structure of communities, which will influence others to action and continue the search for truth.
Leaving for Sierra Leone March 11th to continue my work with post-war communities. During the brutal civil war that ended more than six years ago, almost four thousand people had limbs amputated by the revolutionary front. 1600 individuals now reside in camps dotted around a country determined to recover.
Please check back often for updates, and please check out sumandparts.com and support our work. Thank you.
